How to enable JavaScript in your browser
To enable JavaScript, please follow the instructions for your particular browser.
You will probably want to do this if you have received an error on our site notifying you that ‘Your browser either does not support JavaScript or you have turned JavaScript off’.
- Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 6 (Win)
From the menu bar, select ‘Tools’, ‘Internet Options’. Select the ‘Security’ tab, and press ‘Custom Level...’. Near the bottom you will see an entry marked ‘Active Scripting’, this should be enabled.
- Firefox 3 and Firefox 2(Win)
From the menu bar, select ‘Tools’, ‘Options’. Select the ‘Content’ tab, and ensure that the ‘Enable JavaScript’ option is checked.
- Safari 3 (Win)
From the Safari menu bar, select ‘Edit’ the ‘Preferences’. Under ‘Security’ ensure the ‘Enable scripting’ box is checked under the ‘Web Content’ section.
- Safari 1.1 (Mac)
From the Safari menu bar, select ‘Preferences’. Under ‘Web Browser’, ‘Web Content’, ensure the ‘Enable scripting’ box is checked under the ‘Active Content’ section.
- Opera 9 (Win)
From the menu bar, select ‘Tools’ then ‘Preferences’. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab. JavaScript options are found under ‘Content’.
- Opera 7 (Win)
From the menu bar, select ‘File’ then ‘Preferences’. JavaScript options are found under ‘Multimedia’.
- Mozilla 1.6 (Win)
From the menu bar, select ‘Edit’ then ‘Preferences’ and ‘Advanced’ JavaScript can be found under ‘Scripts & Plugins’.
- Konqueror (Linux)
From the ‘Settings’ menu, select the ‘Configure Konqueror’ option. Under ‘Java & JavaScript’, select the ‘JavaScript’ tab, and ensure ‘Enable JavaScript globally’ is checked.
- Galeon (Linux)
From the ‘Edit’ menu, select the ‘Preferences’ option. Under ‘Filtering’ ensure ‘Allow JavaScript’ is enabled.
